Networks are a people-focused program for employees of ACEC-Ontario member firms. The community-oriented ethos of Networks exists to improve member engagement opportunities and member firm employee relations through the enhancement of business networks, expansion of member-peer relations and increased professional and leadership skill development. As such, Networks are an opportunity for engagement that creates value for ACEC-Ontario member firms.
ACEC-Ontario currently has five Networks:
- Womens Network
- Future Leaders Network
- Chapter Leadership Network
- Transportation Network (TN)
- Sustainability & Climate Change Network
Our Networks are an opportunity for member employees to rally together to discuss common industry trends and issues with peers in a particular segment of the ACEC-Ontario membership. Networks provide an opportunity for member employees to benefit professionally while giving back to the industry by discussing and offering solutions to common industry concerns.
Networks are a province-wide program, allowing members from throughout the province of Ontario to engage virtually and (one day) in person. Member Network activities include virtual peer round-tables, professional development opportunities, networking events, and working groups.
Womens Network
The ACEC-Ontario Women in STEM Network (Womens Network) is a space for both women employees of ACEC-Ontario member firms and their allies to join and discuss common trends that women identifying employees experience within the consulting engineering industry. In particular, the Womens Network has a particular focus on addressing the high attrition rates of women-identifying employees within the industry.

The Bridge | Newsletter – A Womens Network initiative
The Bridge is an ACEC-Ontario Womens Network project that mobilizes knowledge through digital information sharing and peer conversation. Each issue of The Bridge focuses on one knowledge gap within the consulting engineering sector. This gap is dissected holistically through research summaries, interviews, stories and actionable steps.

Future Leaders Network
The ACEC-Ontario Future Leaders Network is a place for young professionals (YP’s) employed by ACEC-Ontario member firms can gather to enhance leadership skills, increase your professional network and gain industry insights by discussing common trends and issues experienced by YP’s within the consulting engineering industry. Young Professionals are defined as a person 40 years of age or younger. If you are a YP and would like to get to know your peers, the FLN is a great place to start!

Chapter Leadership Network
The ACEC-Ontario Chapter Leadership Network is a space for ACEC-Ontario employees who hold a position on one of the five (5) chapter executive committees (Simcoe, Niagara Region, Grand River, London and Ottawa Chapters). As an ACEC-Ontario chapter leader, this space provides you with an opportunity to connect with ACEC-Ontario staff and peers in a similar role to you so you can share best practices and strengthen your local chapter through peer collaboration.
Network Audience: executive member volunteers of ACEC-Ontario Grand River, London, Niagara, Ottawa and Simcoe Chapters
Transportation Network
ACEC-Ontario is creating a Transportation Network for member companies and their employees who conduct, or may in the future conduct, business with the Ministry of Transportation. This forum is a large-scale, low-commitment opportunity for members to remain informed of MTO issues in a timely, nuanced manner. Members who sign-up to the Transportation Network will be put on a communications distribution list so they are directly informed in a timely fashion of updates relating to the MTO.

Sustainability & Climate Change Network
Consulting Engineering Companies have a significant role to play in addressing climate change issues. They ensure that designs and operations are continuously adapted to the impacts of climate change in order to help protect public safety.
ACEC-Ontario’s new Sustainability and Climate Change Network is the place for employees of member companies to help shape the conversation around sustainability and climate change and position the consulting engineering industry as leaders on this increasingly important topic.
